Party Poker History and Review
Party Poker History
Party Poker’s history is one of the oldest and most storied of online poker sites. Party Poker was launched in 2001, and quickly took the spot of top poker network. Its games back then were a poker players fairytale, people were winning for massive amounts, and there were plenty of players. In 2006 with the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), Party Poker closed itself off to the U.S. Market, and has not re-opened since.
After closing itself off, PokerStars and Full Tilt filled the vacuum party once filled, and party became small, but still a soft site, that Americans longed to be back on. In recent years Party has grown remarkably, and with the recent closure of Full Tilt, Party is poised to gain a lot of new traffic. Party Poker is currently owned by bwin.Party, and is currently traded on the London Stock Exchange under code BPTY
